As a Studio Director, you will be responsible for managing multiple teams and overseeing all aspects of our projects, from technical vision to commercial success. The Role
Your role within Tamatem’s world will include the following:
Technical Vision amp; Execution:
- Collaborate with the Technical Director to define the technical vision of both existing and new products across a range of areas, including gameplay mechanics, UI, engine, etc.
- Stay up to date on technological advancements and industry standards to define our best practices and share them with your team
- Ensure game features and systems are scalable, flexible, and simple to use
Studio Management:
- Manage the studio's budget, collaborating with other teams to plan and implement new initiatives
- Utilize and improve best practice methodologies, production processes, and efficient tools to promote innovation and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead basic studio legal activities letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements
- Develop external partnerships with 3rd parties to leverage resources and cost advantages
Team Building and Skills Development:
- Identify and recruit team members
- Mentor and motivate team members to develop their skills
- Ensure that the team has what they need to work efficiently and achieve quality (tools, pipelines, etc.)
Commercial Success:
- Collaborate with the internal teams to drive in-depth data analysis and research that will inform technical and commercial decisions
- Evaluate the potential commercial success of games under development, as well as the performance of released games, and make recommendations for improvement
- Establish relationships with potential partners and licensors to increase the commercial success of Tamatem's games
Process Improvement:
- Ideate, design, and iterate on development processes and practices within the product teams
- Create documentation to capture key challenges, solutions and learning points
Requirements
- Experience leading teams in the mobile games space.
- Practical management skills overseeing studio operations and/or creation.
- Strong knowledge of technical skills, such as Unity, HTML5, C++, and other programming languages.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or STEM fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
