This is a contract role with the potential to transition to a permanent position. This role is 100% remote and is open to candidates based in Romania. Business hours are 10am to 7pm in Romania.
Overview
Arkadium seeks a talented System Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams (developers, analysts and data engineers) and make some real impact to the business. If you enjoy constantly improving and automating infrastructure so teams can deliver services quickly, then we'd love to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Compliance with SLA for gaming platforms and infrastructure services
- Validate infrastructure against fault tolerance, scalability, security requirements
- Pilot new technologies and services
- Incident eradication together with product teams and other engineers - root cause analysis, postmortems
- Enhance monitoring, infrastructure and cloud services
- Implement security best practices and standards
- Reduce attack surface for applications and infrastructure
- Maintain operational docs and DR plans in actual state
Requirements
- Understand computer networks and web applications
- Have experience with heterogenous environments (Linux, Cloud, Windows)
- Able to build and control workflows
- Can organize his own work as well as others’ work
- Seeking balance of risks and efforts
- Able to catch and remediate failures in any component of a complex system
- Analyze metrics, seeking for anomalies and understand how to optimize services
- Aager to automate his work
It will be a big advantage if you are familiar with:
- Cloud environments (applications, storages we’re most on Azure, some services GCP/AWS)
- Web servers (nginx or any other)
- Configuration management systems/IaC
- Web app debugging (Chrome DevTools, cURL);
- Monitoring (Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.);
- Log analysis (Elasticsearch, Kibana/Grafana);
- CDN/Load balancers (F5/HAProxy, Akamai, CloudFlare, Azure FrontDoor);
- Containers and orchestrators (Docker, Azure Kubernetes Services);
- Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD
