Job Description
We are looking for a Backend Developer to join our dynamic team working on our cutting-edge sportsbook platform. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Java and PHP so as to be able to craft and maintain robust backend services and APIs. The role involves collaborating closely with frontend counterparts, ensuring seamless integration, and exceptional user experiences. In addition, driving innovation, optimising performance, and upholding coding standards to deliver top-tier solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and PHP to support our sportsbook platform.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate frontend components with backend services seamlessly.
- Design and implement scalable and efficient solutions to meet the evolving needs of our sports betting platform.
- Optimise application performance and scalability through code refactoring, caching mechanisms, and other best practices.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by internal teams or customers in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and improve development processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure effective collaboration and communication within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in Java and PHP programming language with a strong understanding of object-oriented principles and design patterns.
- Experience using Spring Technology stack.
- Knowledge of both relational and NoSql databases and caching system
- Familiarity with RESTful API design principles and experience in building and consuming APIs.
- Knowledge of events streaming system with microservices; comfortable in building applications that make user of Kafka
- Experience in development using CICD
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Prior experience in the online gaming and sportsbook platform betting industry would be considered an asset
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
